The Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society will be hosting a “virtual” walk with The Grand Parade on Sept 18th, and we welcome our community to join us!
Our main goal of this campaign is to raise enough funds for a new bed at the Prairie Lake Hospice facility, as well as provide clients and their loved ones with any supports or services that our society can offer.
We want to encourage our community to walk with us by creating teams with friends, people from your business, family members, etc. Each team member will fundraise towards our goal of $20,000. The more people we can get to support us, the closer we will be to our goal!
How do I create a Team?
-From here you will click First Timer! (Create new account)
-Search Grande Prairie in the search bar. Select Grande Prairie (Virtual-Only) – Grande Prairie Palliative Care
-From here it will give you a waiver which you will have to check mark saying you have read and accept it. Press continue.
-From here you can choose to Walk by Yourself, join a Team or Start a Team. Press start a team.
-You will give your Team a name and set your Team Goal amount. Closer to the bottom it will ask to choose your challenge. Select Health & Wellness. Press continue.
-This page requires your contact information. First Name, Last name, Address etc. You will also create a username and password so you can see your team’s progress. Press continue when you are done.
-This is where you will put your own personal fundraising goal. How much YOU would like to raise. It can be changed at any time. Permission questions are if you want The Grande Parade or GPPCS to contact you by mail, email or if you would like people to be able to see your score board. Next question is about how you heard about TGP, Age and T-shirt size. (If you raise over $150 you get a t-shirt!) Press continue when you are done.
-You will now be on the register page, and it will show your information. If it’s correct, press Yes! Register me now!
Congratulations. You made a team. 😊
I have a team. Now what?
-If you would like to recruit team members, you can go to Team on the left side panel, and Recruit Members. From here you can input email addresses and send an email right from The Grand Parade site.
-If you click on Fundraising on the left panel, you can also copy the link under “Your Page Link” and send it to your friends via text, Email, Facebook, etc. This will bring them right to your team to join or donate.
-Pick a time on Sept 18th that works for your team. Sleep in if you want!
-On walk day we encourage everyone to post pictures on social media, or our facebook event.
